Makalu Trekking

Overview

Makalu trekking in lies at the eastern part of Nepal, it is protected by the Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project, established in 1992. The park covers altogether 2330 sq km among the several mountains. It is the home of Mt. Makalu (8463m), the fifth highest peak in the world, along with this peak there are the Mt Chamlang (7319 m) and Mt. Baruntse (7129m) being stretched over 40 km.

The Mt. Makalu is a restricted area; however, we have a trekking in Arun Valley and subsequently to the dense forests, alpine meadows and up to the Barun glacier and reach to the base camp, from where we have a spectacular view of Mt. Makalu.

This is considered to the low altitude trekking, mostly centered at Arun Valley, the eastern part of Nepal. The valley that holds a mighty Arun River and dense forest that is contrasted with the terraced slopes, where you also can see that diverse tribal groups residing in unity and the Makalu-Barun National Park, an important conservation area of many species, which are on the verge of extinct.

Itinerary Overview

 

Day 01 :Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1345meters). You will be met by our representative and transfer to hotel and a short brief about the trekking after refreshment.

Day 02 :Flight Kathmandu to Tumlingtar, then trek to Khandbari.

Day 03 :Trek to Chichila.

Day 04 :Trek to Num.

Day 05 :Trek to Sedua.

Day 06 :Trek to Tashigaoun.

Day 07 :Trek to Khongma.

Day 08 :Trek to Mumbuk.

Day 09 :Trek to Yangle Kharka.

Day 10 :Trek to Shersong.

Day 11 :Day Trekking Makalu Base Camp.

Day 12 :Rest day.

Day 13 :Trek back to Yangle Kharka.

Day 14 :Trek back to Mumbuk.

Day 15 :Trek back to Khongma.

Day 16 :Trek back to Tashigaoun.

Day 17 :Trek back to Num.

Day 18 :Trek back to Chichila.

Day 19 :Trek back to Mani Bhanjyang.

Day 20 :Trek back to Tumlingtar.

Day 21 :Flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 22 :Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.
