Bumpthang Cultural Trek

Overview

This trek provides unique experience to the trekkers. It is an easy and moderate trek. The best season to make this trek is March, April, May, September, October and November. This short trek is ideal for average walkers as the altitude does not go over 3,400 meters. The trek crosses several villages and crosses through the picturesque countryside of Bumpthang, giving an exceptional opportunity to be in touch with rural life. The four valleys of Bumthang, is revered by the Bhutanese as the sacred land of Bhutan with many important Nyingmapa saints coming from here including the famous Pema Lingpa.

Itinerary Overview

Day 01: Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 03: Early in the morning, we fly to Paro from Kathmandu and then we drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On the way to Paro, one will experience breath- taking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks of Nepal including the sacred Jhomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake of Bhutan. Upon arrival at the Paro International Airport, you will be received and escorted to the hotel. We also visit the National Museum and Paro Rinpung Dzong. In the late afternoon, we drive to Thimphu.

Day 04: Full day sightseeing in Thimphu and overnight in a hotel.

Day 05: Early in the morning after breakfast, we move towards Tongsha from Thimphu. It takes about 7 hours drive from Thimphu.

Day 06: After having breakfast, we drive to Bumpthang from Thimphu. It would take about 3 hours by vehicle. Lunch in Bumthang. We go for sightseeing in the afternoon and overnight in a hotel.

Day 07: Full day sightseeing in Bumpthang and overnight in a hotel.

Day 08: We start our trek from Bumpthang and reach at Ngalakhang. It takes about 5 hours to reach Naglakhang on a normal walk. Overnight in the camp.

Day 09: After having food at Ngalakhang, we proceed towards Ugyenchholing.After a normal walk of five hours, we reach Ugyenchholing and overnight in the camp.

Day 10: Today we go to Tang valley from Ugyenchholing. It takes about 5 hours to reach Tang valley and overnight in a hotel.

Day 11: Early in the morning after having breakfast, we go to Punakha from Bumpthang. It is only a driving distance of 8 hours. We will have picnic lunch at Chendebji and overnight in a hotel.

Day 12: Early in the morning from Punakha, we drive toThimphu and have lunch. After having lunch, we again move ahead to Paro. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 13: In the morning flight, we fly to Kathmandu. Rest day and shoping.
