Langtang Region Trekking
This region is considered one of the most popular narrow mountain valleys at the base of central Himalaya. . Located north of the Kathmandu Valley, the route goes through traditional and ethnic villages and virgin forests on the way to the peaks of Langtang-Lirung. The scenery here is spectacular, and the treks are more adventurous as the area is visited by a few numbers of tourists. The region is proud to have Nepal's first Himalayan National Park popularly known by Langtang National Park.
The Langtang valley provides opportunities to relax into local settlements and to study flora and fauna along the way. It offers wilderness experiences without being too taxing. Trekking to the Langtang region offers an opportunity to explore ethnic villages, oldest monasteries, small Peaks and glaciers at comfortably low elevations. People in this high and isolated region are of Tibetan origin and they follow Buddhism. There is no flight service like the other trekking regions. The trail head of Langtang trekking is Dhunche or Syabrubesi, easily accessible from Kathmandu by local bus or jeep.
Gosaikunda Trek (10 Days)
Goshaikunda trek lies in Langtang region. Goshaikunda, the holy lake
has gained its reputation among both the Hindus and the Buddhists. The
lake is visited every year by thousands of visitors during the full-
moon night in August. Hindu mythology says- when the God churned the
primordial ocean to produce elixir of eternal life, the poison was also
produced along with the elixir.
Helambu Valley Trek (10 Days)
Helambu Valley Trek has been considered as one of the nearest trek from Kathmandu. The trek offers considerable spectacular views of mountains, meadows, forests, different wild animals, birds, glaciers and many more. Cheese factories, monasteries, and other monuments are other specialties of this trek. Helambu, about 72 kilometers north-east of Kathmandu, is noted for its scenic grandeur and pleasant climate. The additional attractions of the trek are the spectacular views of the Langtang (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m) and other small mountains of Langtang Himalayan range.
Langtang Trek (14 Days)
The Langtang Valley is a beautiful alpine region situated to the North of Kathmandu bordering Tibet. It is popular due to its snow-covered peaks, a mild climate and friendly and hospitable inhabitants. The area was recognized as Nepal's first Himalayan National Park in 1971. The land of Tamangs, Langtang is rich in its age-old religious practices, language and costume. Langtang Valley Trek (13 Days)
Langtang Valley Trek is one of the popular treks of Langtang region. It is best known for its pristine forests, high-elevation meadows of wild sheep, Tibetan-like culture and lovely mountain views. The name "Langtang" is derived from the Tibetan word "Lang" and "Tang", meaning "following ox". There is a story related with the name. It is said that once a Lama lost his ox and followed the trail till the valley.
Langtang - Helambu - Ganjala Treks (16 Days)
The Langtang Valley is situated in a beautiful alpine region to the North of Kathmandu bordering Tibet. The region has become popular due to its snow-covered peaks, a mild climate, and friendly and hospitable inhabitants.The Gosainkunda and Helambu regions lie to its south. The Ganjala Pass is one of the most challenging passes in Nepal. The pass (Wedge) in the Himalaya is situated at an attitude of 5160m.
